Entain plans to slash over four hundred customer care roles worldwide following higher UK tax proposals.

Entain announced plans to cut twenty percent of its customer care workforce globally. This affects more than four hundred positions across the company. The news follows better than expected financial profits reported earlier in the year.
Tax pressures on retail
The company faces higher operating costs due to proposed UK gambling tax changes. Entain warned that adjustments to Machine Games Duty could add one hundred million pounds to yearly retail expenses. These tax worries sit separately from the current customer support staff reduction plans.
Second wave of reductions
This proposal marks the second round of job cuts announced this year by the operator. Management previously planned to eliminate over five hundred positions in July. The total number of reductions will become clear after the consultation process concludes.
Support for affected staff
Chief Executive Stella David stated that the changes keep the business financially resilient and competitive. The company promised to support all workers affected by the transition. The wagering requirement was not stated in this update.
Punters should watch how corporate restructuring impacts customer service speeds and overall account support.
