Holland Casino has finally started construction on a brand new venue at Businesspark Ter Borch. This project follows the total destruction of the previous Groningen site by a fire in 2017. Company leaders and local officials gathered on Friday for an official ground breaking ceremony.
Strategic location near the border
The new venue sits right beside the A7 motorway for easy access. Visitors from Groningen and Drenthe can reach the location quickly. Executives also expect to draw significant numbers of gamblers from nearby Germany.
German customers often cross the border because the Dutch venues offer table games, slots, poker, and restaurants all in one place. This creates a full evening of entertainment that many German venues do not match.
Online licence extended for five years
Alongside the physical venue project, the operator secured a five year extension for its online gambling licence. This ensures the digital platform remains active in the regulated Dutch market until at least 2031.
Company leadership stressed the importance of maintaining player protection standards online. They also noted that regulated markets must stay attractive to keep punters away from illegal operators who lack proper oversight.
The continued investment in both land based and online gambling shows the operator remains a major force in the regulated Dutch market.
