Phil Richards has left his role as chief financial officer at Gaming Innovation Group after two and a half years. He confirmed his departure on social media and stated that October was his final month with the business. His departure took effect on the second of November, and the company has confirmed the exit.
Handover and transition plans
The business has put transition arrangements in place to maintain continuity across finance and regulatory oversight. Executives are searching for a successor while Richards remains available during the handover process. The board has already begun the appointment process to find a replacement.
Background and career moves
Richards joined the company in July 2024 after spending nearly six years at gambling technology supplier Kambi. His earlier career included financial roles at Corero Network Security, Shell, and KPMG. He will take up a new chief financial officer role at a design software company in December.
Key achievements during his tenure
During his time at the firm, the business completed an initial public offering and focused heavily on its platform business. Richards expressed pride in these changes alongside the completion of a majority stake acquisition in 888Africa. Chief executive Richard Carter thanked him for his contribution to financial reporting and corporate development.
