Flutter Entertainment released its financial report for the third quarter. The company revealed a sharp drop in adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization. Higher costs and regulatory problems in South America created major financial challenges.
Mixed results across major regions
Total revenue reached $3.87 billion, showing a small increase compared to the previous year. Strong numbers in the UK and Ireland helped offset weaker sports betting results elsewhere. Adjusted earnings fell significantly to $360 million, down 25 percent from the prior year.
The impact of the Brazil shutdown
A provisional measure in Brazil banned online sports betting and iGaming. This sudden market closure caused $873 million in non cash impairment charges for the operator. The total group net loss for the quarter reached $1,148 million.
Lower guidance for future earnings
The company responded to these financial headwinds by reducing its expectations for the full year of 2026. Management lowered the revenue midpoint guidance by $300 million to $17.61 billion. Adjusted earnings guidance for the full year dropped by $160 million to $2.495 billion.
Punters should expect the major bookmaker to push harder on margins and promotions in core markets to recover lost revenue.
