Aston Villa fans still sing about having the world number one goalkeeper in their team. The famous chant started for Emiliano Martinez and then shifted to support young Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki. Supporters now truly believe the chant is entirely accurate.

Goalkeeper changes the mood

Football fans are quick to support a player who performs well on the pitch. The confidence from the stands often spreads directly to the players on the field. Suzuki has won over the Villa faithful with his strong performances.

Prices move for Villa

Solid defensive displays usually make a team shorter in the betting markets for clean sheets. When supporters gain full confidence in the back line, the team tends to grind out important results. Better defensive stability helps Villa in upcoming matches.

Bookmakers watch closely when a backup or replacement steps in and plays well. Punters who back clean sheets might find shorter odds for Villa moving forward. Strong performances at the back change how odds compilers price matches.

What it means for a bet
