Arsenal faced Fleetwood at Highbury for a Carabao Cup fixture that brought unexpected drama right at the start. Fans inside the stadium watched as an uninvited aerial device hovered over the pitch. Officials had no choice but to halt the action while the situation was resolved.

Match disruption

Play stopped only two minutes into the contest when the referee spotted the remote controlled flying gadget. Players stood around waiting while stadium staff tried to locate the operator and clear the skies. Such bizarre interruptions are extremely rare in professional football matches.
