Casino game provider Spribe has secured a temporary court order in Malta against Aviator Studio over trademark rights. The ruling prevents three companies linked to Aviator Studio from using branding that mimics Spribe registered trademarks. It also blocks the unauthorized use of the aviator.studio web domain alongside other connected addresses. The wagering requirement for any associated game or promotion was not stated.
Court protects registered trademarks
The legal action relies on two distinct EU trademarks owned by Spribe, including a graphic design featuring the word Aviator with an airplane. Maltese judges examined online casino listings where searches for the popular game displayed products from both creators together on platforms like Betsson and EuroCasino. This overlap created confusion for players searching for the game across major operator sites. The order forces the named entities to halt using similar logos and signs immediately.
Aviator Studio Limited recently secured a B2B licence from the Malta Gaming Authority to supply games across Malta and European markets. That expansion now faces legal hurdles following the court ruling in Malta. Spribe must start full legal proceedings on the merits within 31 calendar days of the 1 September order. The targeted companies retain the right to appeal against the decision while the temporary order remains active.
Global legal battles continue
Spribe founder David Natroshvili welcomed the court decision as further momentum after several positive outcomes in protecting their product. He confirmed that Spribe expects a UK hearing in October as part of an ongoing global effort to defend the brand. Operators and players may see changes to game listings on casino sites as these trademark conflicts play out in court. For now, Spribe continues to defend its registered trademarks across European jurisdictions.
Bettors should check game providers when searching for Aviator to ensure they are playing the original version on casino sites.
