Pennsylvania casinos employed 15,252 people by the end of June 2026. This total reflects a decline of 3.8 percent or 598 positions compared to the previous year. The state added a new venue, Happy Valley Casino, but total hiring across the region still trended downward.
Employment shifts in gaming
Table game dealers faced the most significant impact from these reductions. The state reported that 243 dealer positions were eliminated during the 2025 to 2026 fiscal year. Despite these cuts, other casinos and online live dealer providers continue to list open positions.
Rivers Philadelphia hiring plans
Rivers Philadelphia is hosting a job fair to fill roles in hospitality and food service. The event takes place on October 19 and October 20 at the casino events center. Management is seeking sous chefs, bartenders, and other staff to support new restaurant openings.
Strategy for growth
The casino generated 212.3 million dollars in revenue during the last fiscal year. This figure represented a 3.3 percent decrease from the year before. The property is now focusing on expanding its hospitality offerings, including a new hotel facility near the Delaware River.
Staffing changes at casinos can influence service quality and operational efficiency, which are factors for bettors to consider when choosing where to place their wagers.
