Italy midfielder Nicolo Barella is completely relaxed about fighting for his spot in the starting lineup. The national team has experienced a mixed run of results lately, which includes a defeat against Belgium alongside a strong win over Turkiye and a draw with France.

Barella has spent limited time on the pitch across these recent fixtures. He missed the trip to Turkey entirely and only appeared from the bench against France, logging just over one hundred minutes of action without contributing a goal or an assist.

Squad rotation impacts betting markets

Punters should note that squad rotation can alter team momentum and affect upcoming match odds. When key players like Barella move in and out of the starting eleven, bookmakers might adjust prices for both team totals and goal markets.

Barella recently explained to reporters that he understands the physical demands of playing a heavy schedule of matches every year. He pointed out that modern players must manage their bodies carefully while still covering plenty of distance on the pitch.

The midfielder acknowledged that his personal scoring statistics for the national team need improvement. However, he remains fully focused on collective results rather than individual milestones, noting that football is very much a team sport.

Manager backing brings stability

The experienced player also praised the national team manager for creating a calm environment within the squad. This sense of peace helps the players rediscover their enthusiasm after recent difficult periods.

Barella is expected to return to the starting lineup for the upcoming match in Bologna. Bettors tracking this fixture will want to watch the official team sheets closely to see how the midfield shapes up.
