Vincent Kompany takes his Bayern Munich squad to face Elversberg this weekend. The visitors want to bounce back immediately after drawing their previous league fixture. Punters looking at outright markets will note that Bayern dropped off the top spot in the standings following that surprise result.

Market reaction and odds

Bayern remain heavy favourites with bookmakers despite the recent stumble. Their price to win outright could drift slightly if bettors worry about a slow start to the campaign. Elversberg enter the fixture with a 100 percent record after stunning Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Monchengladbach, which might tempt longshot backers into the upset market.

Squad news and scoring trends

Harry Kane enters the match looking to end a two game drought in the competition. The England captain sits on 98 goals from 96 league appearances and remains short in the top scorer betting. Serge Gnabry could return to the squad after missing the previous fixture with a fitness issue.

Players to watch

David Mokwa represents a primary threat for the hosts after scoring with two of his three shots this season. His high conversion rate makes him an interesting option for anytime scorer markets. Kompany warned his players that Elversberg present a tricky test due to their clever use of possession.

What it means for a bet

Backers should consider backing Bayern to win carefully because their slow start suggests the outright odds might offer better value later in the season.
