Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso believes forward Joao Pedro belongs in the same conversation as Erling Haaland. The Brazilian player has started the season in great form.

Strong betting markets

Punters looking at the top scorer market should take notice of his current odds. His recent performances might shorten his price significantly for future matches.

He has scored two goals in the Premier League this season. Only a few players have managed to score more times so far.

Style and comparison

Alonso also compared the player to Karim Benzema due to his movement inside and outside the box. His high expected goals figure shows he creates many chances.

The forward won the player of the month award for August. This recognition reflects his strong start to the campaign.

Chelsea face Hull City next in the league. The club has a strong historical record against this specific opponent.

However, the team has struggled in recent home matches against newly promoted sides. Bettors must weigh this trend carefully before placing wagers.

What it means for a bet

His shorter price for top scorer markets makes him a key player to watch.
