Jamie Carragher delivered a scathing review of Florian Wirtz following a miserable outing away at Bournemouth. The pundit watched the midfielder struggle immensely throughout the fixture. Such a poor display has raised serious questions about his immediate future in the starting lineup.

Carragher warns against selection

The former defender made it clear that Wirtz cannot be trusted to play in the upcoming match against Manchester City. Punters who back Liverpool might want to reconsider their strategy for that fixture. Leaving the struggling player out of the team appears to be the safest choice according to the pundit.

Market reaction for bettors

This news is likely to lengthen the odds on Liverpool for their next outing. Bookmakers may adjust their pricing to reflect the loss of confidence in the squad. Bettors looking at goalscorer markets or player props should also factor in this dip in form.

Looking ahead to City

Manchester City will surely try to exploit any weaknesses in the opposition midfield. Punters should monitor the betting markets closely as lineups are confirmed. Odds on a victory for the reigning champions could shorten as kickoff approaches.

What it means for a bet

Expect Liverpool odds to drift and Manchester City prices to shorten after this heavy criticism of Florian Wirtz.
