Jeffrey Soffer and his company want to completely update the Big Easy Casino in Florida. The venue currently offers around seven hundred slot machines, electronic table games, and poker tournaments. The owner purchased the property in two thousand eighteen and now plans to modernize the entire facility.
Bringing Las Vegas style to Florida
Plans show a massive new gaming venue covering more than one hundred sixty three thousand square feet. The famous architecture firm Steelman Partners will design the new space. They previously worked on major casino hotels for heavyweights like Caesars Entertainment and MGM Resorts International.
The proposed refresh includes thousands of square feet for brand new dining spaces and bars. Developers also plan to build a live entertainment venue alongside a large parking garage. This massive overhaul aims to bring the luxury feel of the Las Vegas Strip directly to Hallandale Beach.
Shifting focus away from Miami
Upgrading the current property is a much more practical choice for the company. Previous attempts to move the gaming permit to the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach failed. Local residents and powerful billionaires strongly opposed the idea of adding a casino there.
The company already started monetizing parts of the land around the casino. They sold a portion of the acreage for over thirty one million dollars to be turned into apartments and retail spaces. Upgrading the remaining site allows the business to focus its time and resources effectively.
Gamblers in Florida can look forward to a much more luxurious venue once the major renovation is complete.
