Charlotte face Chicago this weekend after manager Dean Smith celebrated his fiftieth win for the club.

Dean Smith recently secured his fiftieth victory in charge of Charlotte following a two to one win against District of Columbia United. Ashley Westwood and Allan Saint Maximin scored the goals that sealed the result at Bank of America Stadium. The team currently sits fourth in the Eastern Conference standings under his leadership.

Chicago look to bounce back

Chicago head into this weekend fixture sitting four points behind their upcoming opponents in the table. They enter this match following a disappointing three to zero defeat against Nashville. Head coach Gregg Berhalter admitted his side lost to superior opposition during that fixture.

Squad absentees weaken Fire

Chicago must prepare for this weekend without several key players who are away on international duty. Absences include Noah Allen and Chris Brady alongside other squad members. This lack of depth makes their upcoming away fixture significantly harder to manage.

Players to watch

Allan Saint Maximin remains a vital player for the home side since joining the club. He ranks highly for completed dribbles across the league and has contributed both goals and assists. Bettors should note his influence when assessing attacking markets for this fixture.

What it means for a bet

The home side should see their odds shorten in the betting market for this weekend fixture against a depleted Chicago squad.
