Cristiano ronaldo has officially checked out of the portugal training camp ahead of their upcoming fixtures. The forward started the opening match against wales and came off in the second half. He then spent the next game on the bench as an unused substitute.

Squad harmony in question

Reports quickly surfaced regarding a potential falling out between the captain and the head coach. The manager had publicly discussed plans for the veteran striker during the international break. Training sessions passed with the forward working away from the main group while officials held meetings.

Statement from the captain

The player confirmed his departure via social media channels after holding talks with the federation president. He wished his teammates well for the upcoming matches. He also promised to reveal the full truth behind his sudden exit at a later date.

Impact on tournament odds

Portugal currently sits at the top of their group with maximum points from their opening matches. Bookmakers must now adjust their pricing for upcoming group fixtures. Punters backing the team for outright success will need to factor in the absence of their record goalscorer for the next few matches.

What it means for a bet

Punters should expect portugal to drift slightly in the match markets against denmark without their talisman on the pitch.
