Nico Paz helped Como make a dream start to their Champions League campaign with a four to one victory over RB Leipzig. The playmaker picked up two assists during the match at the Stadio Sinigaglia. Martin Baturina, Tasos Douvikas, Assane Diao and Maxi Perrone scored the goals for the Italian side.

Paz had been heavily linked with a transfer away from the club. Real Madrid hold a buy back option and Arsenal also showed interest in the Argentina international. The midfielder decided to stay in Italy to continue his development and played a vital role in this European victory.

Market reaction for Como

Paz admitted he faced tough man marking throughout the match. This defensive attention created space for his team mates to exploit. His performances will certainly force bookmakers to shorten their odds on Como in future matches.

European betting implications

Como became only the fourth Italian team to win their debut match in this competition. Only the second Italian side to score four goals on their competition bow. Bettors should take notice of their attacking potential in upcoming fixtures.

What it means for a bet

Pundits and bookmakers must now respect Como as a serious threat in the Champions League market.
