Boracay welcomes its first casino resort with opening of Kaban

Gambling fans visiting the Philippine island of Boracay now have a place to play. The Kaban Hotel and Casino Boracay started welcoming guests on September sixteen. An official grand opening is scheduled for October. The property sits along the highway in the northwestern area of the island. The entire property is part of a larger development by Golden TW Realty and Development Corp. Zibin Liang controls the company, which focuses on hospitality and retail projects. The complex stands six storeys tall and features eighty eight guest rooms. Visitors will find a massive gaming floor spanning two thousand square meters. The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp licensed the space to offer table games, slots, and electronic stations.

Changing attitudes toward local gambling

This new venue represents a major shift for the island. Macau operator Galaxy Entertainment previously proposed a massive resort project in two thousand seventeen. Former President Rodrigo Duterte blocked that plan after stating that local residents opposed gambling. The national government eventually lifted the casino moratorium in two thousand twenty one. Current President Ferdinand Marcos Jr maintains a strict ban on offshore gaming despite allowing physical venues to open.

Future plans for the area

Developers intend to turn this specific zone into a busy commercial hub. Golden TW plans to open a shopping mall nearby in the fourth quarter of two thousand twenty six. The company also hired many local workers from the surrounding province to staff the hotel and casino.

Kevin Wong serves as the president and chief executive officer of the property. He stated that the venue combines world class entertainment with traditional hospitality. Bettors visiting the island can now enjoy traditional casino action alongside their holiday.
