Market implications for punters

Bookmakers often adjust future odds when young prospects receive this level of recognition. Pundits and bettors alike will watch closely to see if this affects his price for future individual awards. Sportsbooks might shorten his odds for breakthrough player markets following this news.

The award celebrates the best under twenty one player playing in a top European league. Previous winners include some of the biggest names in world football. Making this cut puts the Arsenal youngster in very strong company.

What bettors should watch

Punx looking at long term markets should monitor how much playing time he gets for the rest of the season. Increased minutes on the pitch usually lead to shorter odds for rookie prizes and team honors. Smart gamblers will keep an eye on his development before placing any speculative wagers.

What it means for a bet

This recognition could shorten his odds in young player award markets moving forward.
